Reasons for failing a NSW driving test?Passing the driving test sounds easy, but many learner drivers make mistakes under stress that can lead to them failing the driving test. Although these mistakes are easily avoidable, success is never achieved by chance and requires proper training and practice. In this section, we introduce the factors that can cause your failure: Whether it's familiarizing yourself with the test format or using the right machine for your test, we've covered everything you need to know to pass your test. Let's start with what you need to know even before you appear for the test. 1. Being too nervous: It is likely lead to poor performance and mistakes. Although, a few nerves are unavoidable, make sure to relax yourself as much as possible so you can present your best effort to the examiner. 2. Not aware of test conditions & items: Make sure nothing surprises you and leaves you scrambling. 3. Fail to adjust the seats and mirrors, or to put seatbelts on: Adjust the mirrors and seats so that you make sure the correct position and that you can see everything correctly without anything obscuring your field of view. 4. Just flick your indicator and drive off: Signal at the right time because signaling too early, too late or leaving your indicator on can confuse other road users. 5. Not checking blind spots, forget to shoulder check: Learners often forget to check their left hand side blind spot when turning left off wide roads. 6. Not stopping at stop signs and for enough time: Stopping behind the line at traffic lights and then creeping forward does not count – you have to stay behind the line. You can move forward at stop signs when the view may be obscured, but only after you've come to a complete stop. 7. Not selecting safe gaps in traffic: Learners often pull out and misjudge the speed of the car coming towards them. 8. Hesitating or being indecisive at right turns: Trying to turn right at lights can take too long to turn – there may be plenty of room but if you hesitate you can get into trouble. 9. Forget to Exaggerate those mirror checks: Examiners ate not be able to tell if you’ve just quickly glanced in your rear view or side mirrors. 10. Afraid to Ask the examiner to repeat, when you need: Asking to repeat allows you time to digest the instruction whilst hearing it for a second time allowing you to perform better on their requested task. 11. Thinking about that you've failed: Examiners do not expect you to drive at the level of an experienced driver. 12. Thinking about that you can make more errors: Never assume that you can pass with several errors.
